And a sprightly Crockpot makes it better.

After your mother assembles the pieces, and snaps the two halves of his body back together, she gently taps the top of his head. Soon his tiny eyes blink open, taking in the new world.

"Master Morel! It is good to see you again!" He does a tiny bow in her direction.

"Ah, and you, Blood Giant!" he looks towards you. "I never got your name!"

"I'm"

"Iam- what a perfect name! Thanks to you, our world was saved. We couldn't have done it without your kindness, Iam."

"I- thanks, Crockpot" you say.

"Is that Crockpot I hear?" your Grandmother shouts from her bed.

Your mother picks the small, synthetic mushroom up and carries him to your Grandmother, placing him on her chest.

"My Goddess Mau! Forgive me for not noticing your presence!"

"That's alright, Crockpot. Tell me how Portabella goes."

Crockpot has no problem explaining the finer details of what has happened. Some of the mycelium in your pockets and shoulders jump out and join the party. Your mother looks to you-

"I've scheduled the transfusion. It will be in a few days, but after that-"

Your mother seems to stumble over her words, which almost never happens.

"I forgot what it was like to not be alone. Maybe I'll stay a while. This feeling... is nice."

Crockpot

It was a nice feeling.
